K-5 Elementary Physical Education, Ascension Parish School District

I have been teaching for 12 years in the Ascension Parish School District in South Louisiana. I was named the 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year at my local school. I am an OPEN National Trainer. I have experience in Kindergarten through 12th grade Physical Education and Health as well as coaching. However, my favorite, by far, is elementary Physical Education/Health. I have a Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education from Southeastern Louisiana University, and am pursuing my masters in educational leadership. I am a National Presenter and was featured on QuaverEd's "Leaders in Education" series. I have presented in Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, Texas, Seattle, New York, and Illinois! My goal is to present and learn in every state! Every year I look forward to growing, connecting, and learning to provide the best physical education for my students!

I have a passion for cross curricular activities. I enjoy implementing them into my PhysEd lessons. I believe we have one of the greatest jobs in the world as a Physical Educator because we have the opportunity everyday to reach every kid in our school! That means, every day, we have the chance to impact each child. That means that if I can help my students struggle a little less academically by presenting the content in a way that may help them get it, then I do it. I love watching the light bulbs come on!

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my little family including my 2 dogs, Charlee & Nate. I enjoy playing softball in a women's league, attending LSU sporting events, boating, and making anything into a friendly competition!
